Niykee is a song-writer and songwriter who, even with her recent whirlwind career has maintained an ongoing routine. Some of her personal highlights included her being picked by Snoop dogg to become his sidekick at the YouTube Brandcast event in May 2013. The songwriting process is an inspiring source for aspiring producers. Niykee constantly listens to beats and discovers many that spark ideas. "I'll be able tell within the first 5 minutes if this is a quality beat. Once I've a melody in my brain I'll begin writing right away." I get the words whenever I'm outside on the deck, playing guitar. Usually it takes less than thirty minutes. While she develops as a lyricist Niykee notes that her pain from the history is an unending source of unimaginable inspiration. Even when I'm not writing in a literal way about what has occurred to me, the pain of my childhood and the loss of my sister end in being integrated into my songs, she states. The memories influence my songs and creates a deeper understanding behind all things that's an important thing to me--I need to know that I can listen to any one of my songs in 20 years from now and still be happy with what I said.
