She's reported on sports for some of some of the most prominent media in the world. Her tenure at The Washington Post was spent covering multiple Olympics, Grand Slam Tennis along with basketball, football and other sports. In 2004, Nichols was transferred to ESPN for a nine-year run in which she earned two Emmy Awards and appeared on several of the network's top frequented shows such as SportsCenter and NFL Countdown. Nichols worked for TNT as a journalist who reported on NBA games including playoffs, regular season as well as All Star shows. Alongside covering for TBS, she also covered baseball and golf broadcasts and Final Four on CBS. Only the second woman has been selected amongst more than two hundred nominations in the history of 42 years for this award.
